20 things I’ve learned by 20

  1. Not everybody you met will suit your personality and that is okay. When you find people who you can connect with easily, your social life is much easier.
  2. It’s okay to take a break for your own well being
  3. There will be problems in life that you run into but problems are not all bad because they are what helps you grow. Nor is all anxiety bad anxiety.
  4. Hard work now will be worth it in the end.
  5. You can’t get everything you want.
  6. There is no rush, there is plenty of time left at the age of 20 to do whatever.
  7. Cleaning my room is good for clearing my head.
  8. No one is pressuring you to be perfect except yourself, everything else is an illusion.
  9. Crying doesn’t make you a baby. It is actually healthy and really helps.
  10. Self reflection is good and helps you grow.
  11. Everything happens for a reason.
  12. People aren’t judging you or watching you like you think they are.
  13. Talking to people actually isn’t that scary once you’ve done it
  14. Exposure therapy is the answer to most of my fears.
  15. It’s okay to let go of those really old friendships that never were good for you.
  16. Learning how to genuinely admit when you’re wrong.
  17. It’s okay to want to be alone. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you, nor does it mean that you are actually lonely.
  18. Don’t do everything because your friends do it.
  19. Learn self care and self love because it makes such a big difference in your mental health.
  20. Learned that you really know absolutely nothing and that most adults like to say that they know nothing either.
