How to fall asleep when your mind is racing

With being an introvert, comes being in your head a lot. This especially means that at the times that you want to go to sleep, your brain is analyzing the whole day. It almost feels like my mind finds everything it possibly can to keep me awake. Obviously this is not good if you have school, work, or a big event happening early the next day and need your beauty sleep. When this happens I usually would end up a wake until around 1 am…. Lucky for whoever’s reading this and needs help, I’ve found the holy grail (for myself) to fall asleep. Hopefully you try this out and can fall asleep as easy as I do from it.

So, you’ve read this far. You might even be reading this while currently having trouble sleeping. My holy grail was first discovered after downloading the app, “Headspace”. In “Headspace”, they have a sleep section and within this sleep section, they have a sub section called “sleep casts”. This is where you fall asleep. Listen to these and I can almost guarantee that you will fall asleep in a matter of a few minutes. I prefer to listen to the male readers because their voices are more monotone and boring to put you to sleep. While the girls voice can be a bit sharp in my ear. The sleepcast include a voice talking or as they call it a “talk down,” along with background sounds like rain, trains, crickets, etc..

With the discovery of head space, I also discovered something almost as good. There are only a few recordings on headspace, so it can get quite annoying to listen to the same ones over and over again. This is okay for some to re listen to things but not for me. So I took to YouTube. I found the perfect search to find a bunch of videos that resemble the ones on headspace. My search was, “Sleep meditation talk down”. You can listen to these interchangeably and fall asleep about the same speed as with headspace but I find that headspace always succeeds in putting me to sleep. Hope this helped.
